Tarun’s interest in bodybuilding began in high school where his passion for health and fitness quickly grew. In 2007 his work activities required that he stay fit at all times so he began spending more time in the gym as a result and became more muscular.
Fast forward to 2013, he was training at the gym one day and was asked by a trainer if he would ever consider competing. At that time Tarun was preparing to go through an intensive 3-month law enforcement training in another province. Being inspired by the fitness world since he was young, when he returned to town, he was determined to get more involved so he contacted the trainer. He started working very hard over a 12 week prep and competed in his very first show in 2014 which was the Krack Klassic in Men’s Physique Class A and placed 4th place. That same year, Tarun competed in the Northern Classic Competition in Men’s Physique Class A and took 3rd place. He ended up doing the Provincials in 2015 but due to a short prep and other life’s events he placed 12th in Class B which had over 24 athletes. Placing in the middle drove him to train harder and increased his desire to compete again. In 2016 Tarun flew back to Fort St Johns for the Northern Classic where he took 1st place in Class A Mens Physique. Now he is preparing for the BC Provincial Show this year and is bringing a new package to the stage.
Tarun's work schedule is ever changing and he often works long shifts. However no matter what obstacle comes his way, he makes no excuses to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. His motto is that no matter where you start or how much time you have, with hard work and dedication it’s always possible to get the body that you want. When Tarun isn’t at work or in the gym, he enjoys spending his free time with family and friends.
