Green Tea Extract
The polyphenols and catechins in green tea increase resting metabolic rate and stimulate fat-burning. Researchers gave participants either a 270-milligram capsule of green tea extract or a placebo every day for 3 months. The group who took the green tea extract lost more weight and continued to lose weight after the study, whereas the group taking the placebo lost less weight and regained all their lost weight after the study was completed.
Green tea has also been shown to improve gym performance. A study published regarding appetite, obesity, digestion and metabolism found that green tea extract improved endurance capacity and stimulated the oxidation of fatty acid.
